Reelect Tony Economou
District 1 City Councilor



Tony Economou was born and raised in Worcester, where he and his wife Maureen are raising their 2 sons, who both attend Worcester Public Schools.

Tony has been self-employed since the age of 20 here in Worcester and knows what it takes to start and operate a small business.

Tony has served as coach and board member for the Joe Schwartz Little League, and coached Greendale Flag Football.  He is a regular participant in cleanups at Indian Lake, Nelson Place School and youth fields throughout the City.  He served as the President of the Nelson Place School Parent Teacher Organization in 2004, and Treasurer from 2005-2008. 

Tony has served as the VP of the North Worcester Business Association and continues to serve on the Board of Directors. He leads the committee to prepare and deliver holiday food baskets for seniors in need from 1996 to present.  He is a long time contributor to the Children's Miracle Network, and Hospitals Helping Kids.  He served on the "Mayor's Taskforce on Job Growth and Business Retention" under Mayor Joe O'Brien and served as site coordinator for 2012 Earth Day Cleanup coordinated by the Regional Environmental Council.

He is the recipient of the WBJ "40 Under 40" Award for professional and community accomplishments.  He also has received the "REALTORS Choice Award" from his peers in the Worcester Regional Association of REALTORS.

As a City Councilor, Tony's representation as a member reaches to the Public Works subcommittee, Municipal Operations and Chair of the Education subcommittee.  

Tony is focused on Education, Job Growth and Business Retention; three key components in improving the quality of life here in the City.

A strong education system with a robust small business network is not only vital to our economy but will also strengthen our neighborhoods.
